Buddy was referred for a fractured pelvis but a diaphragmatic hernia was identified on radiographs on initial assessment.
As the diaphragmatic hernia (top right image first collage) is an emergency condition he required this to be addressed first.
Andrew Miller and associates requested our first opinion vet Sophia repair the hernia before they would consider repairing Buddy’s pelvis.
Sophia performed the surgery and Buddy recovered well from this, Buddy’s owners came to visit him daily to check on his progress after the surgery and over the course of a week he had recovered enough to have his pelvis repaired by Andrew (before and after left pictures of second collage).
He recovered well post surgery, walking with a sling and taking a fair amount of his own weight on his hind legs.
He went home 5 days later after receiving pain relief to be reunited with his fantastic owners who had missed him very much.
Thank you to everyone at Broadley’s, especially Luke. My wee dog Rosie has had TPLO surgeries done on both her back legs, since the begining of the year.
This has made such a difference to her mobility and she has started to enjoy playing with her toys again and going for her wee walk. Rosie has received excellent care from Broadley’s, the nurses and reception have been so helpful when we have been at the hospital and with Rosie’s aftercare.
Luke has been fantastic with Rosie and with his expertise, advice and the operations he did for Rosie, she is now pain free and is a happy wee dog again enjoying life.
I am truly grateful to Luke and the staff at Broadley’s for what they have done for Rosie. Xx
