Gawain graduated from Cambridge University in 2000, and after a couple of years in practice, completed an internship at the Animal Health Trust. He moved to Glasgow Vet School in 2003 to start a residency in diagnostic imaging. He obtained the RCVS certificate in veterinary diagnostic imaging in 2005, and the diploma of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2006. He also completed a master’s degree investigating veterinary orthopaedic radiography in 2006. He moved to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh in 2006 as a lecturer in diagnostic imaging. In 2008 he returned to Glasgow as lecturer in diagnostic imaging and veterinary anatomy. Gawain main research interests are in the development of new radiographic techniques for veterinary practice, and in the use of computed tomography for veterinary patients.

Our orthopaedic service, with state-of-the-art facilities, including MRI and CT scanning, and expert nursing care, provides the highest level of veterinary orthopaedic care available.  

We use the highest quality equipment and perform minimally invasive techniques where appropriate from Chihuahuas to Great Danes.  

We have special miniature fracture systems for cats and small dogs.
