Andrew qualified as a vet from the University of Cambridge in 2002. He undertook further training towards becoming a specialist at Cambridge and then at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
In 2006 Andrew was awarded the Diploma of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. He moved to Michigan State University and was an Assistant Professor in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine.
Andrew has published widely in veterinary textbooks and research journals, as well as having lectured worldwide. He returned to the UK in 2010 to join Vets Now Referrals.
